Really, it's almost always worth it. I was so tired after a busy day and some fun celebration at an event after work. I still wanted to get my workout in early the next morning. I debated bailing on the workout but an easy recovery 3 mile run (or an easy 40 minutes on the bike trainer if that was going to be better for my knee) is certainly doable.
